Boosts can help you in a variety of ways. To activate boosts, you need to tap on them.
1. The magnet at the top of the tray places 10 random pieces onto the playing board. The magnet is available on all difficulty levels and can be used on iPads and iPhones.
To see other available boosts, please tap on the Menu button below the tray 
:
2. The horizontal line button 
allows you to complete any horizontal row of the puzzle automatically.
3. The vertical line button 
allows you to complete any vertical row of the puzzle automatically.
Lines can be used only for puzzles starting from the 288-piece difficulty and are available on iPads only.
4. The square button 
allows you to choose any 3x3 square on the playing board and complete the chosen area automatically. Squares can be used for puzzles of 143 pieces or more and are available on iPads only.
The number next to the boosts shows how many boosts you have. When you run out of boosts, there will be a 'plus' sign next to it, and you'll be able to get more boosts:
1. After watching an ad video
2. Using game coins
A set of 35 magnets can also be purchased with real money.
You made the puzzles easier. What's the point of working a jigsaw puzzle if all you have to do is push a button and it automatically completes. Where is the challenge in that? I don't like it!
Agree with Sanrajacobson42. Also since you can't move the edge of the puzzle, you can lose a piece that was placed over a similar section & not find it at the end of a game.
How on earth did both my husband & I suddenly get to Level 2? I've completed several hundred more than he has, mostly at a more difficult level!
Dear Sandra and Linda! Thank you a lot for sharing your feedback with us! Your opinion is very important. All the boosts are optional, so you can just ignore them for a challange.
As for the missing pieces, please try to press the completed frame and hold for several seconds. It will fade and all the not connected pieces will be highlighted.

Don't like the update. The options that were free now cost coins. It will take me longer to be able to save up coins for the next puzzle pack that I actually want. It just goes to show how greedy this company has decided they need to be.
What do the little numbers next to the boosts mean? The "lock in place" feature in the latest update is great... I was hoping it would be added. Love this app! Thank you.
Autumn5656k - that number is how many of those boosts that you have left. When you run out, if you want more of them, you will have to pay coins to get more. That is the change I do not like in this update. They used to be free...
I dont like the boost at all and would like the option to not have them on the menu. Since you did this update i lost many puzzles i completed. Sometime parts of the puzzle get stuck behind the stuck together ones and i have to waist points getting the out. If i need a hint you just put some pieces together and push them around to get a few to pop together to get a bigger piece to help get unstuck. Why would i pay points? The only option i would want would be to have the edge done with a click. But if you charged points i would never pay for it. I have the edge done on many puzzles and they are all gone. No i am very upset at the update and using another puzzle that my dad sent me a link too. I will finish the puzzles i have and move to the other game. So did you remove all the puzzles with the edges done i had so i would pay for help to get back what i had?
I find the new update confusing having to switch back and forth and paying coins to get an answer. The main thing that is not included in the last update is that the puzzle board can no longer move either horizontally or vertically to give space on the board to move pieces on the
open space. It was so much better to be able to move many pieces on the board rather than having to scan through the side panel for each piece..
However, I must say that I am thoroughly addicted to solving Magic Puzzles!! They are great!
HATE the new update. It's nice that some of the bugs seem to be fixed, but I hate the locked edges and the fact that I now have to pay coins to view just the edges. A great way to lose customers is to make them pay for something that used to be free. I agree that the other boosts are lame, too.
I agree with comments about having to use coins for boosts-very tacky! - especially having to use coins for the "just edges". That is a nice feature that just about any other puzzle app has and it is freely available. I pay for the puzzles-I paid for the app and now it costs to use it. I believe you have to rethink the procedure to use the "new features"

The beauty of this app was not only the colours of the puzzles, but that I could move the finished section off the screen and use the whole screen to work on another section. This has gone. Holding the edge for a few sections to see the loose pieces does not give me space to work on a new section. Please return to the original.
And not being able to simply get the side pieces only as a beginning is a mean change. In fact I would suggest that the puzzle AUTOMATICALLY come up with the side pieces only. It is the standard for puzzling.
Very disappointed user, who may not be a user anymore unless things change back.

Been trying to give the new update a fair trial. Still hate it. Still has not been fixed. The levels? Stupid. I have yet to "earn" a puzzle pack that I actually WANT to have. I still have to pay coins if I want to just see the edge pieces. Still makes me angry just thinking about how lame this app now is and how much money I have wasted on it. Not planning on EVER paying for something from this company again.
Just read the posts on FB and here, I assumed you are experienced programmers, is it hard to come up with workable download, in which we can retain all our progress, purchases, coins etc? I'm really getting tied of this. I really must compare your technical support to the other companies, they instantly respond even to a hint of the problem, regardless if it affects one user or many. I wish you greatly improve in this manner, we love the app and want to play, but our patience is wearing thin. Please do something!!!!!

I hate not being able to move sections off the screen!!!
Also why the sudden change to having to see just the edges??? If nothing else changes with the Boosts this MUST be REVERSED if you wish people to stay with you especially when all the Boosts have been used up!!!!
The other options I do not or think I will ever use!!!
I also seem to have a Decreasing number of Boosts available even though I have NOT used any!!!!!!
I have just seen your comment about the levels not incorporating the puzzles previously completed. Why not??? It IS possible to do so from data in "Stats Section of My Account" ????? I submitted an email about this a while ago & only found out here!!!! Such a simple answer to my email could have been sent.
Any idea how long it will take you to FIX IT? Could you at least post comment about the matter on Facebook ? It's tacky, that you keep promoting new packs like nothing is happening.

I agree with Marcela ditch the boosts and return them to the old way where you could see just the edges & the preview with no cost for using.
I do though like the idea of the levels. They provide an incentive to progress that is rewarded at the end of each one. It is also good to see how far you you have got. However as previously asked how many coins is needed for each level?
I agree with the suggestions that the vast majority of the last update should be removed.
The biggest annoyance is the locking feature. What's the point of undertaking the challenge of doing a puzzle, especially at the higher pieces counts, if the puzzle is going to try to help you when you don't want it to (locking pieces to the board when they find their correct location), and then impede upon your further process by getting in the way (locked pieces prevent having a clear space to work on other sections). And having the pieces lock into their correct locations, to a puzzle enthusiast like myself, just feels like cheating. I want to decide when and where something belongs, be damned if I'm wrong or not. That's the fun of doing puzzles.
And now I'm reading in the comments that features that were previously free (viewing only edge pieces in the side scroll) will now cost coins. That's just dirty of you. It feels like you're trying to cheat long time app users like myself into spending hard earned (or bought) coins on something other than purchasing the puzzle packs we've been working hard towards. That's uncalled for and unfair.
I do like the idea of having levels to work towards, and puzzle packs unlocked by level, but the boosters and the puzzle locking have got to go. And by the other comments I've been reading in your forum I'm not alone in feeling this way. Give us our old Magic Puzzles back!

As for the needed progress for each level, it changes with each level. For example, you need to complete 8 puzzles on the difficulty 42 pieces without rotation or 4 with rotation.

I don't like the sound of that! Rearranging ???? I sincerely hope you mean get rid of them, gosh, how many times - change it back and leave it alone! It WAS outstanding app!!! There always can be fun challenges added, but NOT the basic app design . You had winning product and you RUINED it!!!!! Very upset, more and more as puzless time passing by.
Don't be fooled by positive reviews after the upgrade disaster, those are the new players, who don't know what they are missing.
Can we at least have our 'free edge piece viewing' back?
Personally I really don't care about the edge pieces, I always do those last anyway (I'm crazy like that, I do it even with old school cardboard piece puzzles), but my mom who also has this app is old school and she always does the edges first. I'm already anticipating that she will not like the changes that have been made to the game's operating format, and she has little patience for inconveniences like this in her gaming apps. She'll stop using the app if she dislikes it enough, and she's has the paid no ads version and regularly purchases puzzle packs through the app. Magic Puzzles does not want to lose a customer like my mom.
Can you give us idea when we can expect puzzles back? Month, 2 mos, Christmas?
Feel like the few platitudes given to us are just lies. Do you intend to continue pissing off your loyal customers? Fix the update! Don't treat us like ignorant fools who will continue being your customers no matter what you do or don't do. Very disappointed in the lack of concern shown. There was nothing wrong with the app before you changed it; in fact, I loved it! Now I am so discouraged with it that I refuse to "share" my puzzles with my friends. Why would I want to encourage people I care about to use an inferior product from a company that doesn't care to listen to its customers? At this point I am ready to delete the app and lodge a formal complaint to the app store against your company! I would rather you got off your asses and fixed it!
I do not like having to purchase the "boost" of edge pieces.
For any newcomers to Magic Puzzles who are wondering why so many are making a big deal about this you have really got to see what the original version of Magic Puzzles and it's game format was like before they continuously made 'improvements'.
In the Apple App Store there are single puzzle pack editions of Magic Puzzles available for free on Ximad's apps page. All of them show the game in its wonderful, original, lack of frills and gimmicks format. You can get a feel for what a great game this once was. Puzzle counts are restricted to 288 pieces or less, but it gives you a real feel for why some of us die hard fans of Magic Puzzles fell in love with this app and now are so upset with its developers.
